How to split a PDF into multiple files
Need just one attachment, a single chapter or each invoice as a separate file? Indy PDF Studio splits a PDF by page ranges right in your browser. Splitting is free during the introductory period and the document is not uploaded anywhere.
Try it free in the editorStep by step
- Open the PDF in the editor with Open.
- Click Split in the top bar.
- Enter the page ranges that should become separate files.
- Confirm. Multiple output files are downloaded together in a ZIP archive.
- Unpack the ZIP and check each file.
When splitting helps
Typically when you send only part of a document: one contract attachment, a specific statement or a chapter. Smaller files also fit email and upload limits more easily.
Splitting vs. editing pages
Splitting creates new files and leaves the original unchanged. If you want to keep one file and only change the order or rotation of pages, use the thumbnails and the Page panel.
Sensitive documents
Splitting runs locally. Before sharing, check that the output files do not contain pages the recipient should not see.
