How to delete a page from a PDF

An empty page after scanning or an extra attachment can unnecessarily extend the document. Before removing it, check its order in the file. The printed number on the page may not match the thumbnail number in the editor.

Try it free in the editor

Step by step

  1. Open a copy of the PDF and find the unneeded page in the thumbnails.
  2. Click on it and check its content in the large preview.
  3. Use the page removal tool and check the newly adjacent pages.
  4. If removing multiple pages, proceed one by one and check their order continuously.
  5. Export the result under a new name and check the number and content of the pages.

Cover Page and Actual Page Numbering

The cover, table of contents or attachments can shift the order compared to the printed numbers in the document. When instructed to 'delete page 3', follow the content preview rather than the number itself.

When to Rather Split the Document

If you want to keep an unnecessary attachment separately, use PDF splitting by ranges. You will get the main document and a separate attachment without having to decide which copy to discard.

Deleting a Page Is Not Editing Its Part

If you need to keep the page and only change one sentence or image, use the appropriate editing tool. Always open the final export before sharing and check that the content matches your intention.
