How to edit a PDF without uploading it to a server

With a local browser editor, the PDF is loaded from your device and processed on it. Indy PDF Studio performs edits, OCR and translation this way. However, local content does not mean that the entire web page never uses the internet.

Step by step

  1. Before opening a private file, verify that you are on the correct domain indypdfstudio.com.
  2. Read the privacy information and distinguish between working with the document and loading the web page itself.
  3. Load the document, perform the edits and wait as needed for the download of OCR or translation components.
  4. Save the result in an appropriate folder on your device. For sensitive data, check whether this folder is automatically synchronized.
  5. Before sending to another person, open the export and verify its content. Only share a work-in-progress OPDF intentionally.

What Is Downloaded from the Internet

The browser loads the application, its libraries and possibly language models. The web may use limited traffic measurement without document content. These requests need to be distinguished from sending text or files for external processing.

Device and Downloaded Files

Local processing does not address the security of the computer itself, shared user account or automatic folder synchronization. On a public device, consider whether working with a sensitive document is appropriate.

Appearance of Overlap Is Not a Guarantee of Removal

Covering text with a colored element does not remove the original content. A flattened export creates newly rendered pages, but even in this case, do not skip checking the result and do not assess the document as secure only based on the preview.
